The search continues. Picture by Ryan OslandPOOR weather continues to hamper the search for fugitive Malcolm Naden in dense bushland in the state’s north.
Northern Region Assistant Commissioner Carlene York said police believed Naden was still near Nowendoc.
‘‘It [the campsite] is still our best piece of evidence so far,” she said.
‘‘The thing that happened overnight is that we identified a fingerprint. Until this stage we hadn’t had positive identification that it was Malcolm Naden.’’

Sixty officers are now involved in the search.
‘‘We are going to try everything we can to catch him. He shown in the past that he has very good bushcraft skills. He has the advantage of being able to survive in those difficult circumstances,’’ the assistant commissioner said.
‘‘Our police are also very skilled. We have lot of experience dealing with other agencies.’’
