TWO people injured in farm accidents in the state’s south were airlifted to hospital yesterday in a busy day for the state’s only rescue helicopter.
The helicopter was called to Reekara, King Island, just after 10am after a 23-year-old woman was seriously injured in a four wheel motor bike crash.
The crash occurred on private property and police are still investigating.
The woman was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
At 2.30pm Ambulance Tasmania called the helicopter to Hermitage Road, north of Triabunna, where a 47-year-old Triabunna man had been seriously injured in a tractor incident.
A paramedic treated the man at the scene and he was flown to the hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not described as life threatening.
Earlier in the day a 41-year-old Risdon Vale man suffering from a serious medical condition was airlifted to the hospital after ambulance officers raised the alarm.
