Two men are in custody with one expected to be charged over the murder of a 54-year-old Port Sorell man.
The second man in question is expected to be charged with accessory after the crime.
Western District Detective Inspector Rob Gunton said the dead man’s body was located in Beulah, near Sheffield, after he was allegedly murdered at an Illaroo Avenue home in East Devonport.
The woman who lives at that address returned home yesterday afternoon, after being away since Christmas Eve, to find her property disturbed and blood inside.
She told police that she thought a crime had allegedly been committed and further investigations led them to the body in Beulah.
Detective Inspector Gunton said he could not speculate on what weapon or weapons had been allegedly used to kill the man or the relationship between the accused men and the alleged victim.
The two men in custody are expected to appear in an after hours court tonight.
