AMBULANCE Tasmania wants to wish everyone a happy festive season, but it doesn’t want its staff to deliver the message personally.
Ambulance Tasmania chief executive Dominic Morgan said while its paramedics were very friendly, they would prefer not to meet Tasmanians in the back of an ambulance this holiday period.
“In the past we’ve attended people choking on chicken wishbones and Christmas pudding coins, suffering electric shocks from dodgy decorative lighting and broken bones from falling off ladders while hanging mistletoe,” she said.
“In the case of an emergency, dial 000 and ask for an ambulance.”
Ambulance Tasmania recommends that people alternate between alcoholic drinks and soft drink, keep out of the sun, wear sunscreen, don’t leave children unattended and check on barbecue gas bottles to ensure there’s no incidents this sea
